Melrose residents steamed about the village's proposed $2.4 million well and water tower project will get their chance to ask questions at a special meeting May 21.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall. Engineers with Davy Engineering Co. will be on hand to answer questions and will make a presentation about the project, said Village President LeRoy Craig.
Craig announced information about the special meeting at the May 7 meeting which featured about a dozen residents who came with questions about the project, which would include two wells, a new 155,000 gallon water tower and a water treatment plant. Preliminary estimates last fall showed the project would cost about $2.4 million. Craig said the village has spent nearly $320,000 so far.
