A Libertarian congressional candidate plans to join a group of peace activists when they visit Ron Kind’s La Crosse office this afternoon.

Kevin Barrett is one of two Libertarians running against the La Crosse Democrat. He will face Ben Olson III of Wisconsin Dells in a Sept. 9 primary.

Barrett said today he would join the peace activists, who are in La Crosse as they walk to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul on what they call a nonpartisan protest of the war in Iraq.

The peace walkers planned to go to Kind’s office in the Exchange Building on Fifth Avenue at 4:30 p.m. in hopes of meeting with the incumbent congressman.

Barrett of Lone Rock is a lecturer at UW-Madison who has been an outspoken 9/11 conspiracy theorist. He calls himself “the peace candidate” and has decried Kind’s votes to fund the war.

" When asked why he keeps voting for the war, "Kind says as long as soldiers are in harm's way he will make sure they have the tools they need to be safe." (http://www.wkbt.com/Global/story.asp?S=8840300)

Kind is lying through his teeth. There has never been a vote on whether or not our troops should be given "the tools they need to be safe." (Look it up in the Congressional Record.) Is Kind trying to tell us that when Democrat Russ Feingold and Republican Ron Paul and others vote against funding the war, they are voting to keep the troops in Iraq without any "tools to be safe" ?!

End the funding -- the troops come home. End of story.

If Kind wants to support the war, he should admit it and explain his real reason. We're fed up with lies! "

" Kevin Barrett also hosts several internet radio shows and is considered on of the founding members of the 9/11 Scholars Movement:
